Computation of grades
If your grade on the final exam is less than 45%, then your grade in the course will be your grade on the final exam. If your grade on the final exam is at least 45%, then your final grade will be calculated as follows:
- Homework: 14%
- Quizzes: 6%
- Midterm: 30%
- Final exam: 50%
In the computation of the homework portion of your grade, your lowest homework mark will be replaced by your grade on the final exam if this is to your advantage.
If you miss a quiz, 3/8 of its weight will be transferred to the midterm test and 5/8 of its weight will be transferred to the final exam.
Midterm exams cannot be rescheduled. If you miss the midterm exam for a legitimate (properly documented) reason, its weight will be added to the weight of the final exam in the computation of your course grade.
